Henry had to be my favorite little sidekick. The little brother I never wanted. I was thinking about all our adventures together and was just giggling with tears in my eyes because he was always such a goofy good kid that always wanted to do good but found himself in unfortunate situations šŸ˜† like the time when he shattered the light at EDHCF from bouncing the lacrosse ball. Or wiping out on the downhill trail run in Yosemite. Or when I came to visit and he ā€œcleaned his roomā€ for me just to find out it was all shoved in drawers lol. Such a unique spirit he had, he will never be forgotten. I’ll always think of him when I do an overhead squat in the wild. šŸ’›

Henry, You were seven when you came to visit us at our apartment on one particularly memorable occasion. As always, you were filled with unbridled energy that your parents tirelessly tried to steer in constructive directions. To give you something to do, your mom and I asked you to help out by taking your little brother’s dirty diaper to the trash. I guided you down the hall to the outside stairwell. I opened the door, pointed to the trash chute and said ā€œThrow it in there.” You looked at me, wide-eyed and grinning, and without hesitation wound up like you were pitching a baseball and launched the diaper into the air and onto the roof of the building next door. As it happens, our kitchen window looks out onto that roof, so for years when we were washing the dishes or filling a water glass, we would look out, see that diaper and think of you. Classic Henry, always doing something wild and unexpected and leaving a lasting impression that keeps us shaking our heads and chuckling. We will always remember your spontaneity, free-spiritedness, smiling face, and willingness to help no matter the job. We will always love you Henry Peter, Gretchen & Gage

My favorite memory of Henry was when he was loading for me at the state championships. I missed my first snatch, and he came up to me and told me a joke. And before every attempt, I had him make up a stupid, nonsense joke to tell me before my attempt. I went 5 for five on the rest of my lifts. I learned how to weightlift with Henry lifting right next to me. Thanks for the jokes Jake

I am beyond sorry for what has happened to Henry and his family and friends. I have not forgotten the kindness, humor, and the great memories Henry gave me. He had everything to offer to the world. He was an incredible friend and gym buddy to me while I was in Boise. Even though it was for a short period of time and mostly through the gym (and chaotic hiking trips) I was lucky to know him and his family and have them in my life.

Henry. Smiling, laughing, finding an edge & going there. What a bright and disciplined little man he was and what an incredible person he has become!! I love reading how he helped and brought interest & joy to so many people and situations. Most of our memories are of him loving on his younger ā€œcousinsā€. Our 3 kids adored him! Over the years he held them, made faces and put up with their antics. We all enjoyed many delicious foods including toasted almonds. I am torn apart by this tragic loss of such a wonderful friend, man, cousin and son. Henry made and makes this world a better place! I can’t wait till we join him in heaven & get to hug his strong neck again! Love you forever precious Henry!

Relation to Henry:  He is my cousin’s son, but like a nephew to me.

I met Henry at a Crossfit gym. I remember doing partner WOD’s with him, he was the kindest gentleman, the best motivator. I loved watching the bonding family time the 4 of them shared.

Henry šŸ’™ this is my favorite picture of you and Jeff. So eager to learn and being independent. I remember you eating lunch after working on the fence and all you wanted was a coke🤣 soda. I said, sure. That’s easy. I have that. I think I fed you everything sugar. I would do it again in a heartbeat to make you smile again. R.I.P and please give Jeff a big hug for me up there. Love you.

Henry has been on my mind daily since finding out of his passing. I don’t really think there are words to describe what a unique human he was. My first memory of Henry is when this photo was taken, October 5th of 2019. He photobombed my boyfriend (Kevin) and I’s picture during a weightlifting meet. I remember thinking who the heck is this guy? The best part is several months after that, Henry’s whole family joined Verdant North where Kevin was coaching/managing, so I saw Henry all the time. He was a staple member at North and we always enjoyed racing each other in workouts and oly lifting together. I’ll never forget his smirks and sense of humor. Celina, Jeff, and Jackson, there are no words for the loss of Henry. My heart aches for all who knew him and I’m grateful I had to opportunity to call him a friend.

Henry was always bright and inquisitive! From the time he learned baby sign language and could let everyone know he wanted to jump on the trampoline he was ready for any challenge. He learned how to build things, take things apart, prepare a garden, lift weights, play baseball, drive farm equipment, care for animals and people. He captured our hearts forever. We will miss him everyday and hold his love steadfastly in our hearts.
